"When a person really desires something, all the universe conspires to help that person realise their dream."
Paulo Coelho
The person asked in return, "How was the village you have just come from?"
"Oh, it was awful! The people were rude and unfriendly," said the traveller.
"The next village is similar", was the reply.
After a while another traveller stopped and asked the same question, "What's the next village like?"
The same person replied with the same question, "How was the village you just came from?"
This time the response was different, "oh, it was good! People were friendly, kind and hospitable!" The person in the village replied, "You will find the next village the same!"
The law is that if you project benevolence you will get benevolence in return!
Einstein said, "The most important question you can ever ask is if the world is a friendly place."
Not what we would expect from Einstein, right? A little left field to say the least! If we decide that the universe is neither friendly or unfriendly and that 'God is essentially playing dice with the universe' then we are simply victims to the random stuff of the dice and our lives have no real purpose or meaning.
But if we decide that the universe is a friendly place, then we will use technology and knowledge to create the tools for understanding the universe...because power and safety will come through understanding its workings and its motives.
It's not really rocket science, is it? If we have a belief that the world is unfriendly then we will continue to put power behind this belief and so our actions will change accordingly, and we will put our focus on protecting ourselves against others.... We will constantly be expecting bad news.
On the other hand, if we decide the universe is friendly then we will only do things to help others and the world will no doubt play out this belief for us. The point is how we choose to view the world will ultimately define how we live our lives and what comes back to us. So, let's ask ourselves, what's our expectation?
There are so many great souls that have shared their vision on this subject that I am happy to embrace that clarity and spread some of it around me....
Marianne Williamson says, "The universe is the handwriting of God and it is both self-organising and self-correcting. Where there is lack, the universe is already planning to remove it from your circumstances. This is the law of Divine Compensation. The only thing that can deactivate that law is if you have more faith in the reality of lack than in the reality of the law."
So, when I look at my faith or lack of it and how it has stood in the way, what I see is a benevolent universe conspiring to nudge, prod and push me past my fears. I see a past and present that has challenged me in every way possible to become more complete, more balanced and yes more willing to trust the benevolence of this universe.
When my expectations are of how things should be instead of how they are, or when I judge outcomes as disappointing or negative, when I see lack when there is so much richness, I'm cutting the flow of possibilities.
Alright, so what can we do? With our voices, our personalities, with our money, our time, our skills, our power to heal and our strength? This is our call from inertia and inaction. We can always point to the absurdities, the hypocrisy, the atrocities and point and point and keep pointing. Or we can take it on, look within and act! Maybe we've stayed safe in our regularness, our everydayness and it's time to see our own power and beauty and recognise that the world can be as blindingly beautiful as we can imagine it!
Cheers!
